A Dhamma Sermon Programme

 

 

 

 

 

 

To mark the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, a Special Dhamma Discourse Programme was organized by the staff of the Provincial Department of Social Services under the guidance and direction of the Provincial Director. The programme was held at the Mirisawetiya Raja Maha Vihara on 2 June 2026, and all staff members participated in the event with great enthusiasm and devotion.

Issuance of Appointment Letters for Posts in the Provincial Social Services Department on a Limited Basis

 

The issuance of appointment letters for the newly granted appointments on a limited basis by the Provincial Social Services Department was held on 04th May 2026 at the office premises of the Director of the Provincial Social Services Department.

This occasion was held under the patronage of the Director of the Provincial Social Services Department.

Posts for which appointment letters were issued:
• Nursing Assistant III
• Attendant III
• Cook III

These appointments are expected to further strengthen the activities of the Provincial Social Services Department and ensure the efficient delivery of required services.

 

"Mithuru Sevana" housing program.

The “Mithuru Sewana” Housing Assistance Programme is implemented with the objective of providing a safe, healthy, and habitable living environment for low-income persons with disabilities, elderly persons, and female-headed households.

Under this programme, community participation, social cooperation, and institutional support are integrated to provide the necessary financial and material assistance for completing partially constructed or incomplete houses to a livable standard.

The main objectives of this programme are to improve the living conditions of vulnerable families, establish secure housing environments, and empower communities socially.

As of 2026.05.20, the activities of the Mihintale “Mithuru Sewana” Project are being successfully implemented under this programme, while the work of completing habitable housing facilities for beneficiary families is continuously progressing.

Through community participation and social cooperation, this project continues to make a significant contribution towards improving the living conditions of vulnerable families.

On 2026.05.11, the “Mithuru Sewana” Housing Construction Project was ceremonially commenced in the Senadiriyagama Division of the Palugaswewa Divisional Secretariat Division.

 

This project, which aims to provide safe and habitable housing facilities for low-income persons with disabilities, elderly persons, and female-headed households, is implemented with community participation and social cooperation.

 

The programme is expected to make a significant contribution towards improving the living conditions and social empowerment of beneficiary families.

The Nochchiyagama “Mithuru Sewana” Housing Project is implemented with the objective of providing a safe and habitable living environment for low-income persons with disabilities, elderly persons, and female-headed households.
